Hi to all, boy its been a long hard 6 months since we last updated the news, I suspect a lot of you who we tried to keep in contact are perhaps now over here? Many problems with changing our ISP has caused us a lot of grief, lost a lot of files somewhere and many email addresses. This site has been off for a while after a problem with our old ISP (wont go into it). I have now put this site on my Business server space, so no more probs.
At last we have launched our business site, you can find it here: http://www.jeztechs.com/, lots happening including a big project promoting a Sunshine Coast Food Guide. Jerry's design work has come a long way since launching this info site you are reading now, no plans to change it though, would take to long :)
Any of you guys want a Business Website when you get over here, please just keep me in mind.
Certain features on this site are now not working, lost a lot of files and scripts during the last 6 months during a massive computer upgrade, hope you all find the content of interest all the same.
Apart from the above news, things here are pretty much the same, although after now living a year and a half here, I must update our "differences page" and "what we miss"pages, there are some..........

Will get this site uploaded now and attempt to update a few pages soon, hope you are well. Bye

At last we have put up a few photo's of our new house, you will find them on our photo pages. The house is taking ages to set up, just got tons of stuff waiting to be unpacked, but are waiting for new carpets to be put down throuout the house. The deck is looking great with all bamboo furniture, its great sitting out on a nightime, you just have to dodge the many large and small insects that seem all out to infect you! Put a hidden counter on these web pages which allows me to see how many visitors come here, its good to see many of you cheaking up on our progress. Gots loads on CaneToads that hop around the garden at nights, these are supposed to be venom and you are advised to kill them by preferbly sticking them in a frezzer untill solid, then into the rubbish bin! Kids just clobber them anyway ther can, even play football with them!

11/11/02
Today is the day we pick up our keys for our new house, how exciting! We have until the 16th to move all our stuff, the house is only in the next street so many many small trips are planned. Started to buy a bit of furniture, including some nice large chunky cane seats for the deck, just right for those late drinks sat out at night. There is a TV aerial point outside so we can watch the Footy as well. Maria is still working hard at training for her new job, she has one more week of it before she is set loose on her own. Jerry has applied for a few Web design jobs, although demand is high for these positions. Dale is still out all weekends, partying, we hardly see him now, he is turning into what he calls a "punk" with his dress sense, although this is not the punk as I knew it back home in the 80s! Heard from a few people back at Jerry's old work, was nice to hear from them. Keep the guest book filled up, its great you all are finding us. Not too many entries in our Questions page, don't forget its there. Just been reading on the BBC site about the miserable weather you have been getting in the UK, I could rub the salt into the wounds by saying yet another blistering hot day forecasted for here today! The sea is lovely and warm as ever, spent a day on the beach yesterday and it is getting rather busy now....summer looming.
OK, will leave it at here for now, may not update for a while due to moving in, will need to get a telephone point sorted to the office room and all the usual dramas that come with moving. Cheers for now

03/11/02
Hello all, only 8 days until we move into our new house, furniture has been ordered and the paint catalogue's are open. Going to spend next week organizing all the packing, hired van and all the rest of the moving malarkey! Maria is training hard at her new job, she even gets homework! and will continue her training for the next week. Jerry is in the finale stages of his new wed designer promotion site, next job is to get the marketing material together before going out and giving it the big sell. As soon as I get the site up I will post the link (proper domain name this time). Dale is out at all hours as usual, each weekend brings another batch of party's to get round. He is getting on OK at School and has made loads of new mates, in fact there is four of them sleeping downstairs as I write this. Weather is great as usual, starting to get sticky at nights. Tons of new shops open in Maroochydore town, the town is expanding in the short time we have been here. At the weekends, most large shops have these sausage sizzler stalls outside them, the sizzler is normally a large sausage shoved in a slice of bread with onions, smells great in the morning as you stroll by - you just cant resist buying one, the cost.....about 30 pence!! cheers for now

Hi all, firstly we have stuck a few more pages onto this site mainly aimed for those of you who are in the process of emigrating to Australia, we hope the pages are of interest to you.
The great news is Maria has started a new job for a insurance company, she is undergoing training at the moment. At last we have signed our life away for the new house, we should complete this on 10/11/02 and looking forward into moving in and out of the renting lark! the house is only in the next street so we should get all our belongings into it without to many dramas. bye

18/10/02
Just a few lines this week as we are waiting for certain news which will arrive next week, the news we can tell you is we have bought a lovely house just in the next road from where we are renting. As soon as we can get some photo's we shall post them on this site. Will write more news next week as it comes in. cheers

10/10/02
So another week goes by without still knowing what to do, Maria has applied for a job and Jerry is looking into taking more web design courses, it seems Dale may earn some money this week, he is booked in to do his first dj set in a party in Mooloolaba, he has been woking so hard at it and will earn more than I will ever earn in a hour!
We have decided to look for a house to buy, if we wait to much longer we will be priced out of the market. Prices are moving so quick here on the Sunshine coast, if we had looked when we first came over we could have afforded somewhere with a sea view, some have now made at least $200,000 in just that short time. We love the house we are renting at the moment and tried to bur it from the landlord, no go, he has not had it to long and can see the potential earnings if he keeps it for a while.
We have had rain showers for the last 2 days, cannot complain as sometimes its great to see it, Nsw are having bad bush fires already, destroying ten houses at the last count. The surf here has got a little better over the last week, the beaches along the coast are battling to win the clean cleanest beach award, there all pretty damn good to me.
Got some good photos of
Fraser Island which will posted on the photo pages soon, that's it for now.....stay tuned

3/10/02
Hi again, well what can I say about our trip to Fraser Island, fantastic, we made a 70 mile trip along the beach full of ruts and holes, great fun. Saw the usual dolphins and whales on the way and hundreds of campers set out directly on the beach, what a way to go. Lake Mackenzie on the Island was fantastic, the water was so clear and warm, never seen nothing like it.
Dale took a trip to the Gold Coast just for one night to meet one of his Friends, long way to go just for the night by train!! Big horrible insects are starting to come out now its getting warmer, big brave Maria is the one who sorts them out, as Jerry is Chicken! Took a trip up to Noosa yesterday, boy its getting busy there now, Nsw kids are on holiday.
The sea is getting warmer, we dont seem to have a regular surf here on the Sunshine Coast as we did in Port, Dale winges at the breaks and sometimes has to ride all the way down the hill to the beach (5ks) to find the surf flat as a pancake! Weather still great, can feel it getting warmer and warmer all the time. Bye for now

A big thanks to all of you who have signed our guestbook and the many words of encouragement regarding our website, especially to all of those who are in the progress of applying for there permanent Visa as well to those who have it, believe me, its worth the wait.
As for our week, boy is it getting hot, we are only into Spring and already we have reached the 30s, dread to think what the Summer is going to be like. Some great news on the music front, Jerry's favorite Dj Sasha is in Brisbane in November, the first time in 5 years! Trying to sort tickets at this very minute.
We have booked a day trip to Fraser Island, we leave early morning on Sunday and travel up along the Beach in the 4wl truck, looking forward to it, here is the link to our tour operator, http://www.fraserislandadventuretours.com.au/
We had heard story's of giant hail stones bashing holes in cars since we have been here, the other day there was news of storms during the day and wondered why a few cars had covers over them. I left our car out when the storm arrived and now I know what the story was with these covers. The hail was huge, we could do nothing but watch the hail in amazement, luckily not big enough to dent the car, but I will defiantly put it in the garage next time! Jerry passed his motorbike test last week, just needs to win the lottery to buy his dream bike, the test was easy, just basic riding technique's, if anything needed brushing up on, you just practiced until you got it right.
It is the School holidays in Queensland at the moment, Mooloolaba is busy as is the Sunshine Coast. Cheers for now

16/9/02
Hi to everyone! at last we have put a new looking website onto the web, we hope you like it and please do not forget to sign our guest book to let us know you have found us. Most of our news is up to date as you navigate our site, but please keep coming back to this page where we will endever to keep you posted each week. At present, we are still looking to start our own business. You may have gathered we are now in the Sunshine coast, Port Macquarie was starting to feel a little small for us. Dale does miss Port, however he has now made some good friends here. We are now only a hour from Brisbane which is great for shopping and LIFE!
We hope you all are keeping OK, and keep in contact. Bye for now

15/7/02
Well, it has been ages since we last updated you with all our news so we will have to round these last 6 months in a few sentences! Dale has settled more and more in Port, although I am sure he does sometimes get a little board of the size. We have been up and down from Queensland to Port 3 times now and have decided to move up to the sunshine Coast which has more work/business opportunities than Port. So its back to square one again after all of these months we are still not sorted. Anyway, we move on Wens 17th July, once again we have packed all our belonging's into boxes......Hell. So lets hope the Sunshine Coast gives us the chance we are looking for, a lot of research has gone into the move and we are confident we are doing the right thing. If your wondering if we still feel we have made the right decision to move to Oz? its the middle of winter here now and still we wear shorts and T-shirts, walking to the headland to watch the Whales and Dolphins each day is a fantastic experience which sais it all............(for us at least)
OK, if anyone still reads this site, our e-mail address will change once more, you can of course contact us through our Hotmail address. Hope you are all well and keep watching.

Hi to all, Jerry saw his first deadly Redback Spider yesterday, he was sitting only a few inches above the thing on the same chair! Also saw a possum at night. Our shower in our Villa has started to leak to downstairs, looks like it will take them a week to rip it out and repair it, so the extra small bath tub will have to be used. Check out this link for panoramic views of Port Macquarie www.dreamcatcher.com.au/npmacvic/ if you go to the "Lighthouse" view you will see where we would like to live, best area in Port. We see Kate and Rolls have found us again, hope you are well.
If anyone is interested how about a chat, we have set a date and time of: Sunday 13th Jan at 8.00pm YOUR TIME, just click here: CHAT, this will take you to our chat page, just use any user name where it asks you to login, you will then be taken to the chat area and away we go, hope you can make it.

Happy New Year to you all and hope you all had a decent break from work! It is so hot here at the moment, not sure if you have heard, but NSW is suffering from some major bush fires, they have been raging for some time now, we can sometimes smell it from here although the fires are at least four hours away. Surfing is getting better and the waves getting bigger, when you see something half the size of a house breaking in front of you, its a bit scary!! not to mention the stinging blue bottle jellyfish and the large Stingray that just past Dales feet. Went to a New Years party last night, the lads were playing polo in the pool in the early hours. Tonight it was a late surfing session, the sea is so warm at 8.00pm, watched the most fantastic sunset on Lighthouse beach. Bye for now

26/12/01
Merry Christmas to you all, we hope you had a good one, anyone have any snow? Our day started on the beach in the morning with breakfast by the sea, along with a spot of surfing. Later we had a BBQ turkey dinner, the whole turkey thrown on the BBQ! Then it was drinking on the balcony until 1am with a temperature of 30 all night! The day also recorded a temp pf 41! that is hot, you open the front door and it hits you like a furnice...not complaining though. Today the heat has already started to stream through the windows at 7.30am. Nothing much has happened hear, more time is spent on the beach ,the holiday season has started so Port Macquarie is looking busy, we are told to avoid the town . cheers for now

19/12/01
Had yet another great day on the beach, took a ride a little up the North coast and found some fantastic stretches of beach which ran for miles, before we new it, it was six in the evening and still burning from the sun!!!!
Still nothing on the work front, things are looking a bit to slow, we don't suppose anything is going to happen now until well into the new year. People are mad for there Xmas decorations here, they hold competitions for the best decorated house. We took a look at a few streets last night and had to queue in the cars for a look in! Jerry is swoting hard for his car test, we have around six more weeks to take it other here, fingers crossed. Hope all is well. Bye for now

Had a great time in Sydney, it must be the most wonderful city on Earth. We ended up staying in a City hotel. The plan was to stay in Manly which is a suburb resort, and catch a ferry into town. Manly had hardly any vacant accommodation, what was left was more expensive than staying in the city! Sydney is very expensive, we eat out twice which cost a fortune, however, to sit and eat opposite the harbor was worth every penny. If you are interested where we live, there is a link here which will take you to our towns website: www.port-macquarie.net, check out the photographs. Christmas is just around the corner, its funny seeing Santa here when its so hot outside!! Had a day on the beach today, the surf was pretty good, Dale surfed non stop for a full 3 hours, came back looking like a prune.
I hope you all have found the site again and will write some more soon. Bye

Hi to everyone,
At last the site is back online with the help of our new computer and our new server (midcoast .com.au). Back home when we closed our account with good old BT, they told us the site would still be online!!!! Do not forget our new e-mail addresses which you will find in the "Get in Touch" link, anyone wanting our telephone number or address, please send us a e-mail. We have some excellent photographs, but we are waiting for our scanner to come over before we can publish them. We have been promised that our shipment has now left the UK, and should reach Brisbane on the 20th of Jan, it will be great to set up the stereo and educate the Australians with some fine dance music. Take a look at the "What do we miss" link, we have published a few results. Tomorrow we are off to Sydney for a few days, we will let you know how we got on. Thanks to those who kept in touch with us during our trip over here, its great to here from you. Please keep checking the forum and remember there is a chat room ready to be opened there, just give us a time and we shall see if we can make it. Just for the record, we are 11 hours ahead of your time.
Cheers for now
